Eimear Bourke joined the Medisec team as Legal Counsel in 2018 having trained and qualified as a solicitor with one of Ireland’s premier law firms. Eimear graduated with a First Class Honour Degree at the top of her class from Maynooth University in 2013 (BCL (Int.), Law and English), and went on to train and work in McCann FitzGerald, gaining experience in litigation and regulation, among other areas. She qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and worked in corporate transactions, before transitioning to the healthcare sector. Eimear has worked as a secondee in the Central Bank of Ireland and has a wealth of experience advising on regulatory matters and compliance.
Eimear has amassed particular expertise in regulatory law, and disciplinary proceedings in the statutory professions, having completed a Diploma in Regulation Law and Practice at the Law Society of Ireland in 2018. She has a keen interest in legal education and writing (having also studied English at University) and has published articles in leading international law journals. She also volunteers regularly with the Free Legal Advice Centre (FLAC) in Dublin City Centre.
